On Sunday 12th March Michael Ross, from Hartlepool, will be putting on his running shoes for a third time in support of universal education provision – giving every child, everywhere, the chance to go to school.
Having run the Edinburgh Marathon in 2014 and the North London Half-Marathon in 2016 for Educate the World [UK], Michael will again be taking on the North London Half Marathon for The Iridaceae Foundation and Teach the World.
So far, Michael has raised over £1,000 in support of projects supporting universal education provision. He says “To have the benefit of an education as a child, no matter how basic, is an essential first step to finding your potential as an adult. I was lucky enough to have those first steps. I’m an old guy now but blessed with the ability to run which I find a joy. So, what better way to help less fortunate children than to run a race to give them their first steps!”
