We’re looking for individuals or teams to tackle an exciting new walking challenge in the hills of Wales to raise funds for ‘Teach the World’!

One of the many barriers to education is the sheer distance that children have to travel to and from school. The ‘Teach The World’ team have met children who face the daily challenge of walking up to 15 kilometres each way to school and back – no matter what the weather. So we’ve partnered with a great UK based walking challenge for our supporters to take part in.

The Snowdonia Challenge is a brand new and unique event coming to North Wales in 2017. The event isn’t a hugely challenging expedition, but it’s still not for the faint hearted. To take on the full challenge you will need commitment and determination to prepare for and complete the event.  It will be a test of mental and physical resilience and team work and will take you on a journey of self-discovery. It is inspired by multi-day challenges similar to those used as military training events across Europe.  This is not just about challenge and adventure though: taking part in the Snowdonia Challenge will give you a chance to enjoy an amazing experience where you will explore parts of Snowdonia you’ve never been before.

Each morning will start from the same location in the beautiful village of Betws-y-Coed and each day will finish in the same place. Each day, participants will follow a different route through the stunning Snowdonia mountains and forests, giving everyone a chance to soak up the stunning scenery around the area.  All routes will be marked, marshalled and guided along the way.

Every evening you will get the chance to meet and mingle with your fellow walkers and listen to the stories of guest adventurers such as mountaineer Alex Staniforth, the ‘Adversity Adventurer’ and others from across the UK.

The full event is a 3-day walking event covering 100km over 3 days. If you’d like to be a part of it but can’t commit to the full 3 days then you can take part for just 1 or 2 days – the choice is entirely yours.

More details including information on entry fees may be found by visiting http://www.breeseadventures.co.uk/what-we-do/snowdonia-challenge/. (NB. We have eight spaces reserved at a discounted entry fee. Please contact us for details)

Throughout the challenge we’ll be connecting ‘live’ with schools around the world using Twitter, ‘Skype in the Classroom’ and other platforms where we’ll be talking about barriers to education, and we’ll be recording a short video to add to our YouTube channel.

Please help us to ‘Teach The World’ by signing up to take part in this excellent event and using your experience to raise funds.
